It’s been quite a while since my last post. I’ve got quite a bit of catching up to do. The hobby has had to take a back seat to a little thing called life. Mainly, my work. The summer schedule has been absolutely hectic. The past several weeks have been full of training exercises, underways, and inspections. Just when I though things were going to die down a bit, my ship got the call a couple of weeks ago to get underway. We weren’t told when we would return and all email access was restricted – meaning we were pretty much cut off from our families. Let me just say that it is great to be back.
As I said, I’ve got a ton of catching up to do. I haven’t even touched my cards in a couple of months. Football season is also just around the corner, and one of the first things I discovered when I got back was that the Padres finally traded Jake Peavy to the White Sox. A bit of a bummer, and quite frankly a bit of a shock since as far as I know, Peavy was still hurt. I’m still researching the players the Padres received in return.
I also want to give a word of thanks to The Mojo Hand. I made a trade with him around the time of my last post and I haven’t had a chance to post about it. A stand up guy and a great person to deal with. I just wanted to say thanks for the great cards.
I did get a some great news this summer. Definitely will be the centerpiece of my life’s collection. Expected release date is in January, but here’s a sneak peak:
