Mailday: 2007 Upper Deck Sweet Spot Classics Gwynn / Winfield Dual Signatures

2007 UD Sweet Spot Classics Tony Gwynn / Dave Winfield Dual Signatures

My first Ebay win in quite a while and this one’s sweet.  The first two Padres players in the Hall of Fame, Tony Gwynn and Dave Winfield, featured on an autographed card from Upper Deck Sweet Spot Classics.  Ok, so most baseball fans don’t automatically associate Dave Winfield with the Padres, but whatever.  Right now this is the crown jewel of my autographed Padres collection.

And Upper Deck got it right with the uniforms.  We’re not supposed to look like the Brewers with our uniforms.  Or pretty much the rest of the blue-clad baseball playing universe.  Padres wear brown.  Not blue or sand, but brown.  At least Donovan Tate understands.

  1. That is a sweet card my friend. My first “good” card I got out of a pack was the 83T Rookie 26 some odd years ago. I picked up a Dave Winfield 74T for $5 in 1992. The shop owner didn’t realize that Dave was closing in on his career milestones. Two of my all time favorites.
