1961 Fleer #157 Paul Lowe SGC NM-MT+
A very nice addition to my personal collection arrived in the mailbox today. I won this beauty from Ebay. Paul Lowe’s 1961 Fleer card, graded 92 (NM/MT+) by SGC. This adds another card to my SGC graded 1961 Fleer Football Chargers set. One small step towards completing one my 2012 collecting goals. I still need 5 more cards to finish off the set – Jack Kemp, Howard Clark, Ron Mix, Fred Cole, and Jim Sears. It’ll be tough to finish this set as very few SGC graded 1961 Fleer Charger cards ever show up for sale.
Paul Lowe was a former halfback for the Chargers. In 1965, he was the UPI and Sporting News AFL MVP, after rushing for 1121 yards and 6 touchdowns. He was inducted into the Charger Hall of Fame in 1979.
