Group Break: Five Hobby Boxes From MojoBreak – Padres Draft Pick Autographed Card

Here are the results of a group break I joined at Mojobreak.  As usual, I had dibs on any and all Padres cards.  We broke the following five hobby boxes:

-2010 Panini Elite Extra Edition
-2010 Bowman Sterling
-2011 Panini Elite Extra Edition
-2011 Bowman Sterling
-2012 Leaf Metal Draft

A prospect heavy break.  There were a total of 60 hits scattered among the five boxes.  I was hoping to get some luck with some Padres cards.

Unfortunately, no Padres cards from either of the Bowman boxes.  Slightly disappointing.  When it comes to prospect cards, I generally prefer Bowman products over Panini.

Here are the cards from 2010 Panini Elite:

38 Jonathan Galvez
66 Connor Powers
77 Edinson Rincon
91 Zach Cates

2010 Panini Elite Extra Edition - Powers, Rincon, Galvez, Cates

2010 Panini Elite Extra Edition – Powers, Rincon, Galvez, Cates

Really glad I pulled Edinson Rincon.  I think he has a chance to be a solid MLB player.

Here are the cards from 2011 Panini Elite:

28 Austin Hedges
76 Kyle Gaedele
85 Lee Orr
189 Duanel Jones

2011 Panini Elite Extra Edition - Hedges, Jones, Orr, Gaedele

2011 Panini Elite Extra Edition – Hedges, Jones, Orr, Gaedele

I’m familiar with Austin Hedges and Duanel Jones.  Haven’t heard of the others.  Of course, that’s usually the case with prospect sets.

Finally Leaf Metal Draft.  I only had one Padre card, but it’s probably the best of the bunch. This is a great looking card.  The on-card autograph is a definite plus.:

2012 Leaf Metal Draft #BATJ1 Travis Jankowski Prismatic Purple Autograph #’d 04/25

If you’re not familiar with Travis Jankowski, he was drafted by the Padres in the supplemental round of the 2012 draft (44th overall). If you followed the 2012 College World Series, he was the best player on the underdog Stony Brook team that upset LSU on their way to the CWS in Omaha.
